“Resource Spotlight Monday”: Today, the Gender and Identity Factors Platform (GIFP) features a collection of three resources that explore the gender dimensions of the screening, prosecution, rehabilitation, and reintegration (SPRR) of persons associated with terrorist groups. 

SPRR provides a crucial approach within counter terrorism and the prevention and countering of violent extremism (CT/PCVE), especially following the defeat of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or otherwise known as Da’esh) in Iraq and Syria. Following their defeat, significant questions emerged surrounding the treatment and handling of women associated with ISIL, as well as the spouses and families, children, and foreign terrorist fighters (FTF). The collection of resources offers insights as to how gender-sensitive approaches can be undertaken within the SPRR framework to ensure the sustainable rehabilitation and reintegration of persons associated with terrorist groups such as Da’esh.
